This specific health problem has an array of causes. To target it effectively it is best to use varied types of natural hemorrhoid treatment methods.

Hemorrhoids are located in the rectal area – either internally or externally – and there are hardly any cases that are asymptomatic. In fact the unpleasant symptoms typically include itching and quite often even bleeding or pain. A hereditary weakness of the problematic veins is often greatly exacerbated by the additional abdominal pressure during pregnancy, standing for extended periods of time or heavy lifting. With hemorrhoids in particular, the inflammation of the veins is often related to severe constipation which results in increased pressure and straining during bowel movement.

The most beneficial exercises are brisk walking and swimming. Yoga can be helpful too, particularly inverted positions. Otherwise relax with your feet higher than your head for 5 to 10 minutes at least twice a day.

Diet

As a way to strengthen the veins, nutrition experts recommend eating foods that are rich in bioflavonoids, especially red berries, cherries, blueberries or any other red or blue colored fruit or vegetables. While these are not in season, you can complement your diet with citrus fruits or buckwheat. Along with vitamin C you’ll be able to alleviate pain and swelling.

Alternate Between Hot and Cold Sitz Baths

This natural hemorrhoid treatment method promotes venous and lymphatic drainage and improve the blood circulation around the affected region and so bringing down pain and inflammation.

For this method you will need 2 large vessels suitable to sit in or 2 sitz baths. Half fill one of them with as hot water as you can comfortably take without burning yourself. Half fill the second one with tolerably cold water and thoroughly wash your feet and your private area with an unperfumed antibacterial soap. Sit in the hot bath first and put your feet into the cold bath for 2 minutes, then change position. Repeat the cycle 3 times and carry this out once in the morning and once before bed time.
For more potency add 3 drops of tea tree or eucalyptus oil to the hot bowl beforehand.

Natural Hemorrhoid Treatment Cream

Put 30g unperfumed skin cream into a small plastic or glass container, add 5 drops of frankincense essential oil, 1tbsp hypericum and 1tbsp calendula tincture. Stir the ingredients thoroughly and apply it directly or with a gauze dressing onto the area. For best results clean the area using an unperfumed antibacterial soap prior to application and repeat this several times a day.
